Design Process

To create the EDynamite app, we followed the steps of the engineering design process. This included defining a problem, brainstorming, and testing prototypes.

OUR MISSION

Redefining the world of escape rooms

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic triggered a lockdown in various regions. People were no longer able to go to in-person escape rooms. Now in 2022, though their seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, many businesses have not reopened and there is still much fear regarding Covid-19. To adapt to this current situation, Seven TNT is revolutionizing escape rooms by creating an engaging and exciting virtual escape room, accommodating to all those who prefer to stay home during these uncertain times.

Problem Statement

People are no longer visiting in-person escape rooms, so CAMS-OPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT™  has hired us to solve this problem.

Our Journey So Far

Demographic Research

What the target audience wants...

We did some research regarding what interests teenagers aged 14-15 using PR News Wire and Pew Research. We found that this age group is interested in simulations, racing, puzzles, and fantasy fiction. They also enjoy games relating to rhythm, adventure, or danger. Finally, many teenagers enjoy the collaborative aspect of the game.

Brainstorming

Seven-TNT's first escape room is...

We brainstormed ideas for our plot and theme. Using a decision matrix, we decided on our final idea: an escape from a nuclear power plant. We also brainstormed ideas for puzzles and decided on them based on their feasibility in the storyline and coherence to the theme.

Design Criteria

We developed a list of design criteria to guide the development of our escape room and to check our app against once it has been completed.

Wavy Abstract Background

Constraints

There were several constraints to our project due to lack of funding, time, and experience.
