Problem Statement
Problem Statement
People are no longer visiting in-person escape rooms, so CAMS-OPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT™ has hired us to solve this problem.
Validation
Because of Covid-19 restrictions and concerns, not as many people are booking and attending in-person escape rooms. With fewer bookings, CAMS-OPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT™ is feeling the threat of bankruptcy and the public is accessing fewer sources of entertainment. To provide CAMS-OPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT™ with another source of income, Seven TNT can create a virtual escape room.
Prior Solutions
Some companies have solved this problem in general before. A couple examples are included below.
-
The company The Escape Game created virtual escape rooms in which users work together using Zoom. It does, however, involve a “Game Guide” who is in-person with a camera, so that the Zoom participants can see the room. See the link to this company’s website: https://theescapegame.com/remote-adventures/
-
The company Mystery Escape Room has also created virtual escape rooms that are available to be played on the user's own device. See the link to this company’s website: https://www.mysteryescaperoom.com/free-online-escape-room-demo.
Justification
The problem is definitely worth solving because, as mentioned before, the future of CAMS-OPOLIS ENTERTAINMENT™ is on the line. If no virtual escape rooms are created, they will have no source of income and will therefore have to close completely. This would also mean that many employees would be laid off, so preventing them from being laid off is another reason why this problem is significant enough to be worth solving.
